In short: Vacay Trip Planner does not require an account, display advertisements, or build a profile of your travel activity. Your core planner data is stored on your device.
Information stored on your device
The app stores information you choose to enter, including itineraries, reservations, places, budgets, checklists, notes, settings, diary entries, uploaded images, and reminder preferences. This information is stored locally within the app unless you explicitly export or share it.
Travel Wallet
Travel Wallet records may contain card, identity, loyalty-program, or custom information. Wallet content is encrypted before storage and may be protected with Face ID or the device passcode. If you enable Wallet synchronization, encrypted data is stored in your private iCloud database. The app developer does not receive the plaintext Wallet content.
Information used for optional services
Some features contact services outside the app only when needed:
- Maps and places: Apple Maps and related Apple services may process search terms, map links, coordinates, or the visible map region.
- Weather: Coordinates and requested dates may be sent to weather providers such as Open-Meteo or NASA POWER.
- Currency conversion: Currency codes may be sent to public exchange-rate providers.
- Theme catalogs: When you refresh or install a theme, the app contacts the HTTPS address you provided.
- External links: Opening booking, map, App Store, or other web links is governed by the destination’s privacy policy.
These providers may receive standard network information such as your IP address. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Device permissions
The app requests access only when you use a related feature:
- Location to attach your current location to diary entries or assist with nearby-place features.
- Photos and camera to add diary photos or save a generated postcard.
- Notifications to schedule reminders you create.
- Face ID to unlock your encrypted Travel Wallet.
- Contacts only when a feature explicitly asks you to select contact information.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Sharing and exports
You control when information leaves the app. Full backups may contain planner data and uploaded images. Portable .vacaytrip files exclude Travel Wallet records, private app settings, diary entries, and photos. Diary postcards include only the content you select. Once shared, files are handled by the destination app or person.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. The app receives purchase status but does not receive your full payment-card information.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Vacay Trip Planner does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking technology. The developer does not operate an analytics server that collects your itinerary, diary, Wallet, precise location, or browsing behavior.
Data retention and deletion
Local planner data remains until you delete it in the app or remove the app from your device. An encrypted Wallet copy may remain in your private iCloud account when synchronization is enabled until you use the app’s option to delete Wallet data everywhere. Files you exported must be deleted separately from their saved or shared locations.
Children’s privacy
The app is a general-audience travel utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. No account is required.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when app functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
